In wine-tasting, what's the difference between aroma, and nose?

I know wine-tasters often take a gentle sniff of the wine they’re drinking before they actually taste it. I’ve heard of wine described as having a "nutty nose." How do nose and aroma actually differ?

I recently purchased a vineyard in southern France.

I possess no knowledge of the measurement of time taken to grow, harvest the grapes and conseuquently wine.
